the problem

For the course Physical Prototyping at Malmö University I, together with three other students, developed a helper for the brewing company Malmö Brygghus.


During this project, the brew master of Malmö brygghus explained the process of beer brewing and explained the problem of not being able of controlling fermentation tanks from afar. That often he or his staff had to come to work early in the morning, before opening hours, just to control the temperature of the tanks and adjusting it.

Concept video

BrewBuddy is an Arduino Yun based product, that the brew master can control from a website from his home. This way, he doesn't have to come to work early in the morning just to check the temperature of the fermentation tanks and adjusting it. the process

The process of this project included user research and interviews, brainstorming, sketching, prototyping using Arduino Yun and user testing. Besides making design and UX decisions together with my fellow students, I did all the illustrations for the logo and prototype, and the interface of the BrewBuddy website.
